I attended an event near Sacramento California and since Mt. Shasta is just 4 hr drive away, I just had to drive up for a quick visit :)
Mt. Shasta is one of the top 5 power spots on the planet, and one of the top 3 loves of my life. Hawaiian Islands my number one... I met Lake Tahoe when I was 13 and it was instantly my second, and Shasta became number three when I first went there 11 years ago. I usually spend at least a month in the summer camping either at Castle Lake, or at Panther Meadows near the base of Mt. Shasta. I love to hike up to Heart lake from Castle lake. The entire Mt. Shasta area, including the little town is magical and gives you the feeling of being in a totally different dimension of any other place. I would like to explain my perception of LOVE - Love is the life force of all that exist. When we feel love, we are recognizing and feeling connection to that life force. Some people, places, and things give you a deeper feeling of connection "love" than others - and these top three places of mine I definitely feel an intense connection with. This trip there is still a lot of snow. The road to Panther meadows was closed because of the snow, so I walked over 4 hours with my sneakers and shorts on in determination to meditate in my favorite place in the meadow. Even though I have been there many times before, it was very difficult to find when all you see around you is snow. Then just when I thought I was truly lost... I saw a sign (see pic below). I will post here some pics of Mt. Shasta area now, and will also include some pics I took during the summer there so you can see the landscape better. I am also in the process of making a video of this current trip. "Where there is love there is life." Mahatma Gandhi THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU

I DID IT!!! Almost a month later, but I finally got the Australia video posted :) I had a few glitches with GoPro Quick.
I was planning on being in India this month but I started a fast to clean out some bug I got in Ecuador, and found out it is recommended for 40 days. I am currently on day 15 with no food or water - only grape/lemon juice, two cups of tea and tinctures, and a mixture of psyllium husk powder, Activated Charcoal powder, Bentonite Clay powder. Talk about cleaning out your system! I did go skiing in Lake Tahoe for a few days, and it was Heavenly!!!! I will post some pics :) I may do a quick 3-4 day trip next week to Volcano National Park on Hawaii, to soak in the powerful energies there. Still planning on driving from Greece through the Balkans to Croatia, and walking from Tibet to Mt. Kailash in the Himalayas this summer. So much to see and so little time. “Time is the longest distance between two places.” ― Tennessee Williams, The Glass Menagerie THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU When I was inspired to do this project, the social media part was not part of the plan. I was coerced by family and friends to utilize social media so I can reach more people.
It has been a huge learning curve for me, and continues to be so. It also takes time, which I usually don't have much extra to give. When I was in Australia, and I struggled to find time and internet to write the blog, I began to wonder if it was even worth it. I was really hoping for more interaction on the blog and FB page with the people that I hand the cards too. But just as I was having those thoughts, I would hand the cards to someone and see the smile of gratitude on their face and feel the warmth in their heart, and just KNOW I am doing something I LOVE. Even if I don't continue with social media, I will NEVER STOP GIVING OUT THE CARDS :) I had the most wonderful validation when I went a few days ago to register the name "Thank You for Being You"... when the clerk read the name, he got a big smile on face and said "I really like that name". I handed him two cards, and he immediately got up and gave the other one to the clerk working next to him. She got all excited about it, and my heart sang all day :) I am still hoping for more interaction - comments below, likes on the page, and posted pics of you giving the card to someone. Please, let me know you have stopped by :) "Joy, feeling one's own value, being appreciated and loved by others, feeling useful and capable of production are all factors of enormous value for the human soul." - Maria Montessori THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU I have been back home in California for over two weeks, and I am just now getting the moment to write about my last day in Australia.
I chose to take the long way, following the coast back to Sydney from Lakes Entrance... and it was definitely worth it. I spent about an hour in what I rate as the most beautiful beach I saw in Australia - Hyams Beach. It took me around 9 hrs to get to Sydney. I slept near the Airport and left early the next morning. Before I left, I posted a map that I guessed I would take - it turned out to be a bit different, mostly because I chose to stay on the coast as much as possible. Being a person who craves water time, the Australian coast was such a pleasure to become acquainted with. I will post here the route I ended up taking. I have to say, Australia was all I could imagine and much, much more. I enjoyed every minute (even driving 7,984km). The people were kind and welcoming, the landscape was mesmerizing, and all the different critters were absolutely adorable. I LOVE YOU AUSTRALIA - THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU! Deep inside, we still have a longing to be reconnected with the nature that shaped our imagination, our language, our song and dance, our sense of the divine." Janine M. Benyus THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU Well, as I have mentioned, I am not very good with technology - I can't get the entire map to load :( I get some help with this one :) |
